Understanding How Biblical Formation Happens
The Institute for Biblical Insights, Behavior, Learning, and Engagement serves as a research and outcomes center for studying how people encounter biblical truth, engage Christian formation, develop patterns of discipleship, and continue growing over time.
Moving Beyond Counting Activity
Digital ministry gives us access to more information than ever before. We can count website visitors, course registrations, assessment completions, page views, downloads, community activity, and participation in spiritual practices.
Those numbers are useful, but they do not tell the whole story. BIBLE exists to ask a deeper question: What is happening in the lives of people as they encounter biblical teaching and engage in Christian formation?
Reach
How are people discovering biblical resources and ministry opportunities?
Engagement
What resources, pathways, practices, courses, and communities do they engage?
Formation
What patterns of learning, practice, reflection, and participation begin to emerge?
Outcomes
What can we learn over time about continued growth, formation, and ministry participation?
Eight Ministry Contexts. One Developing Research Picture.
BIBLE brings together information from multiple ministry environments. Each portal provides a different window into discovery, learning, spiritual practice, participation, and formation.
Research That Develops With the Ministry
BIBLE is being built alongside active ministry environments rather than as a research project separated from them. As people naturally engage courses, practices, assessments, articles, communities, and formation pathways, those interactions help us understand how ministry engagement develops.
Over time, increasingly meaningful information can be added through guided reflection and longitudinal analysis.
Research in Service of Formation
The purpose of BIBLE is not simply to produce more data. It is to help ministries understand how people are engaging biblical truth and how ministry environments can better encourage learning, discipleship, participation, and Christian formation.
What helps people continue toward deeper biblical formation?
BIBLE seeks to connect discovery, engagement, learning, behavior, community, and long-term participation so that ministry leaders can see more than isolated activities. The goal is an increasingly coherent picture of formation over time.
